giving thanks

thanksgiving has never really been one of my favorite holidays. i suppose that it all stems down to broken family and too much chaos surrounding where i am supposed to be this year compared to where i was last year for the meal. too much hassle for some turkey if you ask me.
however, my lovable pal, nik, invited me to spend thanksgiving in nyc with her, her man, and her little brother. it was great. very laid-back and calming. we drank good wine, watched movies... all good things. i even wandered around alone looking for breakfast for us one morning. it was so nice to be there with friends and not worry about family and all that comes with it. in fact, i stayed an extra day. oh, and i may have spent a little more money on clothes... but who's counting?
