friend/family/me time

i had a pretty productive saturday... got up at a reasonable time, ran a bunch of errands and even managed to curb my shopping habits. i think this mainly has to do with the fact that i am feeling a little overwhelmed with christmas creeping up on me. thanksgiving even. how is it already this week? just insane. anyways, so even though i was trying to splurge on myself a little, i couldn't. although, i did buy myself a kate spade ipod holder. so cute. it was only $80. i am thinking i might spoil myself after christmas with a flat-screen tv to hang on the wall. that would be nice of me, wouldn't it? :)

my friend, lisa, came into town last night for dinner and girl time. it was so nice to see her. she doesn't live all that far away but we hardly ever see each other. luckily, it is one of those high school bonds that hasn't broken and our conversation easily starts right back up where we left off. she's great. after dinner, we watched the video of our cheering tournament from last march. she hadn't seen it. i tell you though, there are teams on there that make it like you are watching a blooper reel. hilarious fumbled tumbling, falls, and routines where the hardest thing they do is a sommersault (sp?). i was in tears. the good kind -- not the wheel of fortune kind ;)

today, i have to go to family dinner for my step-dad's birthday. not all that excited about it, but i guess that it is time that i get my lazy butt out to the burbs. besides, i think i have some old stuff i need to rummage through. somehow rummaging through old boxes delights me. old memories all compacted into one spot, i guess. i could use without the dust though.

oh ya, i will update on my "big news" but there is one person i must tell before doing so.
