ikea or bust

saturday marked my second trip to ikea ever. it all started with the need for a bookcase. suz and i left boston at 7:30 am on our journey to the burbs to pick up my mom's suv. after picking that up, we made it to ikea just when the doors were opening. it was a wonderful experience being in a store like that with almost no one else in it. no lines, no crowds, just me, suz and hoards of possible buys. we left there with an suv full of goodies. actually, it was almost full... after packing everything into it, we still had room and suz wanted to go and get more. i veto'd that decision. i already had a bookcase, a mirror, 8 little mirrors, 3 picture frames, 4 glasses, 3 candles, 1 sphere, 2 espresso cups, 1 salad bowl, 1 ice cube tray and 1 coffee press. i think that's it... oh ya, and some bluberry soup. it's a swedish thing.

after ikea, we headed into boston to drop off the goods, then back out to the burbs to drop off the suv. by this time, we had been driving around for many hours. i somehow convinced suz to let me take the scenic route back for a bit so i could show her some mansions and cool places in the burbs. also, the scenic route is kind of like a mini-mecca for me. just driving those roads with the top down on my car is a sort of trancendence.

after returning home, we showered from our day of road trips and ordered some pizza. i watched the sox game with her and tim and then headed home for bed. big day ahead.
