wake up sleepy

i'm not sure what happened exactly, but i am exhausted this week.

i guess it all started on sunday (as most weeks do). compile a run-around sunday with an emotionally draining & hard training monday and you get a cold by tuesday. take that, with an appointment on tuesday night, intense training last night, and the latest habit of waking up in the middle of the night (2:30 AM) thinking it is 7:30 AM (i've done it at least 2-3 times this week) and you have one tired jen. i was SO tempted to stay in bed today, but i parked on a metered street and would've had to move the car anyways.

tonight, i have a 'quatro de mayo' celebration with the girls at work. they're all married and don't go out on fridays, so it's quatro de mayo for us. i'm supposed to try and go out tomorrow night as well to celebrate kat's possible new job with a few margaritas, but we'll see how i fare another day with this cold. suz and i are going to try and hit up ikea when they open on saturday morning (meaning we have to drive to my mom's house, pick up her suv, drive to ikea, drive to our houses, drive back to my mom's and then back to our houses. it's going to be a long day. luckily, i have a relaxing night of pizza and beer planned. on sunday, suz and i are doing the walk for hunger. if you haven't seen me hobble after the walk for hunger in years past, you are in for a treat. this year especially since i will undoubtably still be sore from training before the walk. monday is sure to be a kodak moment. fo' sho' (that just reminded me of 40 yr old virgin -- i still love that movie).

i'm totally looking forward to my upcoming mini-vacation. i'm just going to my dad's house, and besides a little seriousness and a possible real estate transaction, i plan on laying out by the pool and that's about it. can't wait. plus, i'll get to play with the dog and that always makes me feel better. i love dogs. oh, that reminds me - i want to cheer on reg and dryfus in their walk this saturday.
