how was your st.patty's day, blog readers? mine was ok. this was the first year that i have ever actually been out drinking for it. odd, since i have been over 21 for a number of them now, i know. funnily enough, i didn't drink at an irish pub. instead, i met a friend for a drink in town and then headed to a friend's house in cambridge for the after party. i shared a cab with some seemingly nice guys that were trying to invite me to their house party. when i said i had my own to go to, they tried to get themselves invited to it. i don't think so, fellas. i jumped out a couple of blocks from the house to make sure they weren't sketchily trodding after me and made it to my destination. unfortunately, by the time i got there i was more drunk than i realized and everyone else was just about passed out. in fact, we all fell asleep watching a movie. i walked to central by myself at 3 am and hailed a cab home.
saturday, i got up at 7:30 and quickly threw on some clothes and my trusty red sox cap, bundled up, and sat out front on the stoop waiting for suz. we had decided the night before to hit up target at 8am. we're crazy like that. :) i ran into my neighbor, who already thinks i am a bit unusual from various encounters with me and an old friend (i believe there was some whispering of his name out a window at night involved... long story), and had to explain 1.) why i was waiting outside in the cold at 8 am 2.) what i did the night before and why i was up that early and 3.)why the heck i was going to target at 8am. all good answers, i assure you.
after my target adventures with suz, i hit up D&D for a caffeinated refreshment, hit the gym for a couple of hours, went tanning, bought some posters for my new office, met up my good friend LJB who was in town and made her some earrings while we caught up over coffee. after that, i went to diesel and bought the pair of jeans i have been lusting after for the past two weeks and then hit up a local shop for a look at some cute bar tops. the best part was that as i was perusing the shimmery-barely-there tops and the where's-the-pole dresses, the shop owner told me that i was very beautiful. not unusual (it's not! i'm just being honest) but particularly awesome because i wasn't wearing ANY makeup. all in all a very productive day on 4 hours of sleep.
today, i had a day of pampering. LJB is one of NYC's most pampered in my opinion and when she's around i can't help but treat myself. suz, LJB and i went and had brunch and 80-minute pedicures. 80 minutes! they were so awesome. maybe it's because the last time i was there getting a pedicure i was severely hungover and out & drinking until only a few hours before it, but this one was fab. i highly recommend G2O (the spa).
i even managed to bring flip-flops with me this time so as not to repeat the all-terrain-ped-flop incident of 2005. however, as suz and i walked down the street to meet her man and our toes turned to icy little nubs, we realized we should've just put our normal shoes on. so we changed our shoes in starbucks. REAL classy.
anyways, the rest of my day has been pretty mellow. went grocery shopping, made dinner, wrote in my journal (that's right - not everything can be posted here), and am watching Cocktail. you know, when tom cruise actually had potential and wasn't a crazy SOB that throws a tantrum and threatens not to promote a movie if a cleverly-aimed south park episode where he's the butt of a joke isn't aired? apparently, the 'dreams' in 'cocktails n dreams' has become 'illusions'. as in, he's having them if he thinks people respect him, or would want to ever see mission impossible III because he's in it.
ok, that's enough ranting about nonsense. have a good night!

I had a great time, thanks for booking the pedicure appts. My earrings look great and everyone LOVES my hair. Though, quite honestly I don't think it looks that different!!
Thanks again for a great weekend!
that's messed up.
