ugh
i had an ok weekend. it could've been better...
i was out late on thursday night, so friday was just awful. i was tired and a little cranky most of the day. i stayed in friday night and just watched tv. saturday morning i got to sleep in a little bit (til about 8). i met up with nate and rocco and headed out on our mission to find some good men's jeans on newbury street. we eventually found some nice ones at diesel (where i always end up when jeans shopping) for the boys and a pair for me, only they didn't have my size. i should've figured this was a sign. a sign that my day was getting worse by the minute. although, i did have a lot of fun shopping with them. we had lunch & sangria and a few laughs along the way.
we tried to hit the other diesel store on newbury only to find that it isn't there anymore. after shopping for about 4 hours, the boys had other stuff to do. they left me in my increasingly morose state (i had heard some crappy news while we were shopping that was just off-putting). instead of going home though, i decided to work through my mood with some more retail therapy. probably not the best of ideas. i easily spent about $1500. it sounds like a lot, ok well, it IS a lot for a day's worth of shopping... but i did get some good stuff. i bought a gucci purse (LJB - you'd be proud), a gucci wallet, $400 worth of jcrew clothes (i don't think i've ever shopped there before but i was pleasantly surprised at their spring line this year), a new jacket at patagonia, a new pair of sandals, some stuff from victoria's secret, sephora, and some other random shops along the way.
suffering from back spasms from the weight of the bags in my arms, i decided to head home. that, and thanks to nik and suz, i wasn't contemplating any more retail therapy to wash away my woes. instead, i decided to drown them in alcohol. lots of it. met up with the usual crowd at the usual places and drank, drank, drank. there was a little scuffle at the second place that was entertaining, but luckily i wasn't too close to it. i'm sure i would've gotten involved in one way or another (either trying to calm one of them down or yelling at one of them - who knows) and would've suffered somehow.
yesterday, i slept in again, ran a few errands and just relaxed. i decided to go to harvard square and see if the diesel store there had the jeans i wanted. i was shocked to discover that the H. sq. store is gone too. where have all the diesels gone? i'll just have to order them online or something. after returning home, the hunt for red october was on tv, so i watched that (i love that movie for some reason). i tried to watch the academy awards, but they just move too slow for my attention span. i did LOVE that john stewart was hosting. he is so great. even sexy in a weird way.
today has been rough so far. my mood is fine, but there are all these extraneous things that are starting to get me down. like:
-my building having no hot water or heat this morning (skipped showering and opted for a kitchen sink hair wash)
-my phone flipping out and only dialing 3 digits (btw - it's not working at all right now (it's locked) - so if you call me, leave a message w/your number)
-discovering that my new pants have a tear in them (now i have to exchange them tonight even though i am wearing them now)
-the web server is down at work making it harder to code
i don't know what else can go wrong today. we'll see i guess.
