houston, we have a vacation

so i'm sitting here watching the world series kinda hoping that the astros pull through (although the red sox are all that really matter in my opinion - it is just fun to root for a team) and i am realizing more and more that i have a hard time with vacation.

everytime i take time off, i have to check my email and i log into the network to make sure there aren't any problems brewing on the web servers. i feel pressure to do that. in fact, i have been giving myself a grief-load of guilt for not working all day every day this week. i don't need that guilt. i have enough going on.

as for houston, it is wonderful here. it has been 70's all week, i soaked in the hot tub, got a quick lesson in scuba diving and snorkeling, helped paint a porch, have played the good big sister to two brothers.... there's probably more too... oh, i went out drinking in a bar down here for the first time. crazy scene, it is. more rap music than boston. oh, that and the bar we went to serves drinks for $1.25. that's right - so cheap! normal size hard alcohol drink (i got capt and diet). insane, huh?

anyways, i have a swedish massage tomorrow that i am looking forward to. i could use it.
