aunt jen

alas, my kitty-stting days have come to an end. just when they were really starting to love their aunt jen. Nik will be home to take care of them tomorrow. i must admit that i have never cat-sit before this. of course, i didn't tell Nik this. i don't think she would've cared though. i'm a caring person, so there's no way those little kitties wouldn't get a little of my love while she was away. plus, i was certified to be a babysitter when i was in middle school. that must count for something. :)

one thing i realized on day 1: i've never cleaned a litter box before.
(it turns out that cleaning a litter box isn't nearly as stinky as i thought it would be)

but how have i made it almost 27 years without doing such a basic pet chore? it's sort of shocking to me. it's not like i haven't had pets (1 ferret, 8 cats, 2 dogs, 1 pig, 1 tarrantula, 1 angora rabbit, 1 iguana, 1 hamster, 1 rat, 1 siamese fighting fish, countless other fish...). i've never really claimed to have a normal childhood though, now have i?

side note: there are plenty of things going on in my life besides my cat-sitting duties. i just haven't felt like posting about them.
