the return of little jenny home-maker

saturday, i attended a barbeque at my boss's house. in fact, i organized the thing. (typical jen. always planning events these days.) everyone had to bring things. i decided to bring a dessert. and a dessert i did bring...

i made 48 scrumptious cupcakes. now, i'm talking the yummiest cupcakes ever. i mean it. i didn't have one until saturday night when i got home, and i was stunned that they were as good as they were. unbelievable! i did spend like 3 hours just frosting and decorating them though. it took a lot of effort in my hungover state, but it was well worth it. the cupcakes were a HUGE hit. plus, i made them a little healthier than regular cupcakes, but i'm not going to share the one culinary secret i have amassed in my lifetime of culinary mistakes and debocles. where would i be then?

my kitchen was a scary place to be after all of that frosting and sprinkling and dying freaking coconut. there was cocoa powder, confectioner's sugar, and little chocolate fingerprints all over things. it was kind of like being a kid again. if only my mom was there to clean it all up :)

i had 4 cupcakes left over after my two-cupcake-binge-fest on saturday. i brought them over to suz's for her and tim to enjoy. if i had kept them in the house, i'm pretty sure i would've eaten them all that day. they were really good, after all.
