i'm dying a slow death
i've been in bed for the last three days. i've barely left my house in that time. i did, however, follow suz's advice and pick up a thermometer at the local CVS last night. the thermometer confirmed that i wasn't just being a baby. besides the fact that my throat is nearly closed it is so swollen, my whole body aches, and my head is pounding, i now know that i have a fever of 102 degrees. i guess that would explain why everyone else has been complaining about the heat, and i am laying in bed under 4 winter blankets.
although i am not all that hungry, and can barely swallow anything at the moment anyways, i just had a weird craving for some eggo waffles that i bought the other day. as i opened the freezer and took a peek at the yellow box peering out at me, it hit me. i have these delicious eggos, i have some mouth-watering syrup, but i don't own a toaster! so much for my craving.
if anyone wants to toast me some eggos and bring them to my deathbed, i would be more than grateful.

sounds like strep throat ... cooled mint tea helps tremendously if you can get someone to get you to bring some eggos, ask for some mint/chamomile tea as well ... and lots and lots and lots of water helps the healing process accellerate ... get well soon ...

a toaster just applies heat, killer. if you have a gas range you can go straight-up victorian on it and toast your waffles directly over the burners. just keep things moving and you'll be fine.
if you have an electric, well, you could use a pan but that might suck a little bit. if you have a spot of patience and a flair for the dramatic you could always toss 'em in the oven.
also: who doesn't have a toaster? i have like 3 or 4 i think. i'll look tomorrow and if none of them are egregiously nasty with the crumbs and etc i'll mail one to you. it will be toaster marxism: from each according to his ability to toast, to each according to their need for toast.
thanks for the advice, elaine. as it turns out, it is indeed a severe case of strep throat.
reckless, my dear... you've seen my apartment. i haven't the room for a toaster. i thought about george foreman'ing that shit, but by then, i just wasn't interested. thanks though!
