curiosity, coffee and bad luck
on saturday, i only left my apartment for about a 1/2 hour between morning and the time i left for the bar that night. in that half hour, fedex came and didn't deliver a package because i wasn't home. well, i looked up the tracking number online and saw that i had a rather light package coming from california. i was dying to know what it was. i kept trying to think if i had ordered something and forgotten about it or if maybe it was something else. of course, that thought brought me on an unrealistic tangent (as evan says, i'm unstable ;) ) that i was abruptly snapped off of when the package finally came yesterday. i DID order something. i DID forget about it. so much for the grandeur of a mysterious delivery. i think this is a sign that i need to stop shopping for a while.
in fact, that new plan (not shopping for a while) is going to help me with another life plan. i'm buying an investment property. think i found one the other day that is perfect. more on that as the details roll in...
this morning, i stopped for my usual starbucks iced venti sugar-free vanilla non-fat latte (i might be on a first name basis with the manager who i used to think was crushing... until i found out that he is expecting his first child with his wife - phew!). in order to get my coffee on my way to work, i sometimes (ok, most of the time) have to park illegally. it's only for a few minutes though and i scope out where those damn ticket cops are before i park. today, i saw one at the beginning of the block that i was going to park in, but she sauntered a different way, so i parked. i went in to get my delicious coffee and, of course, they were lagging. by the time i got out to my loading-zone-parked car, it was gone. just kidding, but there was a hefty $55 ticket on it. nice $59 coffee i had this morning, eh?
p.s. want to know what i ordered? it was a fuscia arm band for my ipod that i can use when running along the charles.
