game on

last night, i went out with snahel and kat for what turned out to be a hilarious night.

it started out that we were the only ones at the bar we decided to go to. i'm not exaggerating: the only ones. we were fascinated by the fact that the bar could stay open with so few customers. then it got packed. for a while, we were wondering if we had somehow stumbled upon a gay fraternity brothers meeting. then a few girls came.

so being the somewhat jaded blonde bombshell i am, i wanted to play some games. it started when i was standing there talking to yana and a guy just came over and sat down in front of me. it is important for me to point out that i had the 'jenny' necklace on. here's why: he introduced himself (i have no idea what his name was) and asked for our names. i said "emma" (fully forgetting that i had the necklace on), and yana gave a fake name too. he proceeded to try and impress me with a phrase i hear all too often: "you know you're the hottest girl in here?". game ON. i replied "yeah, i know." :) he looked a little stunned for a moment that his poor attempt had fizzled as quickly as it did and that a girl could be quite as arrogantly full of herself as i was being. thinking maybe he misheard me, he said "you know?". i confirmed it. i'm sure it works on some girls, but not me. so at this point, i'm not sure if he finally saw the necklace or if i had just plain pissed him off, but i turned away to talk to yana and watched him retreat out of the corner of my eye. cracked me up.

snahel suddenly had the idea to steal red bull from the bar and poor it into our drinks. the funny part was that he was doing it like it was crack or something. it was red bull! he was so funny about it though.

i decided to find out what the group of obviously odd college boys next to us was about. not because i was interested in any way, only because one of them was wearing a tweed jacket in a bar. i found it very unusual. so i quickly assessed which one was the least drunk (it wasn't tough really... it was a question of which one wasn't swaying as much as the others) and moved in to get the gossip. he said something that one of them was getting married and was with another girl or something.. i don't know. it wasn't very clear of what the hell he was talking about. he then proceeded to bash the red sox though (he was from NY as it turned out), so i retreated back to the red bull.

upon leaving the bar, snahel, kat, yana and i started asking people an important question for today's society: 'do you know how to get to sesame street?'. i cannot tell you why. i can't remember how that came about. i just know we were asking everyone and laughing our asses off.

i woke up this morning, too early for comfort, twitching in my sheets. stupid red bull.
