change

nope, not quarters this time... i mean actual mental/physical change.

i've been told that when i am single i change dramatically. it's true. when my h.s. boyfriend broke my heart (sigh), i decided to go to college, started wearing makeup, moved out of my parents house (i was 18) and got a sense of style. after breaking off an almost 6 year relationship, nik told me i changed a ton. even a friend told me that they knew that i'd change a lot this year. i guess i have in a lot of ways...

anyways, this all brings me to a new thing of mine. the new thing? REI. i love REI. every time i get an email (oh yeah, i'm a member) or a catalog or step foot into their gadget-infested, gear-crazy store, i feel a sense of adventure wash over me. it's pretty cool, that REI. they have so many things that i'm sure i don't need, but i can and will find a use for. next purchase = headlamp. even if i only use it to wash dishes in the dark or read in bed. hmmm.. or other things... ;)

this brings me to my next reason why REI rocks. they hire lots of guys who are outdoorsy and athletic. i highly recommend it for that alone. last time i was there with suz, she practically had to drag me away (ok, so she may have distracted me with a shiny object) from a guy that looked like someone i dated. i just wanted a hug. was that so much to ask for? i left a few hundred dollars lighter and hugless.
