whistle while you work

my work environment can, at times, be chaotic. i sit in a relatively open area near many scientists that are talking their scientific jive and discussing random topics of conversation. while i like the occasional distraction, it can sometimes be overwhelmingly loud and tiresome. one thing that kills me is the co-worker that only speaks baby talk to his wife on the phone (with their office door open). a little strange. if someone spoke to me like that all the time and wasn't just doing it as a joke, i'd have to slap them. there is also a lot of construction going on around me. drilling through walls, cutting doors into walls, vaccuuming, etc.. very loud.

to overcome the overly boisterous environment i am placed in, i tend to wear headphones most of the day. i have found the following interesting dance music stations to listen to while keeping my code-flowing-harmony in check (the inordinate amounts of caffeine help too):

• Arizona's Dance Authority: My favorite so far (except for the commercials)


• Seattle's Nathan Hale High School: Not bad for a high school.


• BBC Radio 1: Good radio show
