label-whore

now, i know i have a bit of a shopping problem, but as i've said before, everybody needs a hobby. my hobby costs money just like other hobbies do. i like to shop. that's what i do.

i do, however, shop pretty much anywhere. i like to get things that perhaps someone else won't have, so i go into as many unusual shops as i can find, but keep a delicate balance between them and the 'trendy' shops.

this story does have a point, i promise...

a few weeks ago, i splurged on a new pair of jeans at the diesel store. they were oh-so-cute and i decided to buy them for two reasons. 1.) they were awesome and 2.) to spite the snotty sales girl who was barely responsive to my every demand. i require a little attention at times (god knows i have a few people that could attest to that statement!) and expect it in a retail store. besides, you spend $250 on a pair of jeans and really, the sales girl should probably come with them for an hour.

so most people i hang with might not recognize that the jeans are special or see their value at even close to the retail price, but that doesn't matter to me. it is all about what i like. i have probably shopped more at target and h&m in the last few months than anywhere else and love those stores for their incredible variety and low-cost. i like getting a lot for my money.

i saw my ex yesterday and happened to be wearing the 'special' jeans. i walk out of my apartment to get in the car and the first thing he does is inspect the jeans. i didn't say anything even though it was awkward with him staring at my lower half. he says "nice diesels". he's a recovering label-whore.
