holiday = celebrate

this holiday weekend was a tad blaze compared to recent years, but i did relax quite a bit.

friday, i went to my friend joe's house to play model. he makes some pretty spectacular jewelry and is getting his website up and running with photos of it and some girls wearing it. our photo shoot was fun. i mean, i'm no gisele or anything, but i do come cheap. oh, and another benefit of my 'gig' was that i got to sample some more of holli's delicious cooking. holli rocks.

saturday, i headed out to a craft store in good ol' framingham where i perused the aisles aimlessly looking for things to do with my spare time. i'm a crafty girl. i like hobbies. in fact, one of my hobbies is collecting hobbies. after spending way too much money there, i met up with my little bro for a sandwich and a chat. we have a nice little relationship going these days, so i feel it is my duty to nurture it a bit with a little attention and sisterly advice. in fact, half the time i feel like i am his parent and not his sister. could be for the lack of appropriate motherly behavior and seriously slacking beneficial influence from my mom on the boy. that's a whole other topic that i could get into... after the late lunch, i headed back into the city, got a mani and pedi, then headed over to mike and beth's to see their new kitten. i'm not a kitten person, but i do humor others when they are into something. i think i am too evil for kittens. i really like to play with them and make them jump for things, etc... but i don't think they are really all that cute. i guess i'm more of a dog person. i do like cats though, so i guess i just don't like them when they are young and dependent. (i'm going to make such a great mom someday, eh? ;)

sunday, my will power was low and i gave in to the shopping bug that attacks me more often than not. the disappointing part was that i could barely find anything to buy. i wandered around for a good 3-4 hours and ended up with some new stationary and some cool new reef flip flops. that's it. in fact, i even went into aldo on saturday (when the shopping virus started that little tickle in the back of my throat signaling that i was coming down with it), tried on 5 pairs of shoes fully intending to buy them all, and was greatly saddened when i realized i didn't like any of them on. serves me right... i never try them on. i usually just buy. the only good thing that i can think of that came out of this was that i didn't spend almost $500 on shoes. that's really not a bad thing, now is it?

monday, i worked a normal day. after work, went to the trainer where he made it so that i cannot walk. my legs are SO sore. after the trainer, i went out with snahel and kat to a couple of our usual places and we saw that kid from fantastic four (the one who plays the human torch). kat says i got hollywood fever because i was giving him the eyes, but he was pretty hot. short, like many actors, but hot.

tuesday, i slept off the hangover from monday night, had brunch with snahel, kat, yana and jenna and then headed to our friend's balcony overlooking the park. this kid has a very nice apartment and view. i was a tad jealous. the balcony alone is reason enough to love it. we continued our fun with some beer and some champagne later when the fireworks were going off. i have a lot of photos from the festivities, so i'll post them later.

i'm quite excited because a certain new yorker (soon to be bostonian again) will be in town this weekend. i've been instructed that i must meet her out saturday night and i must wear one of my 'usual' tops. apparently, i am being served up as a distraction on a platter. what else is new? ;) i love the attention. we all know that.
